Why? It gives me that warning when I try to open "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". I keep getting a "General Protection History:appInit". The Windows 80×87 emulator library, WIN87EM.DLL, works at the 16-bit-Windows level to virtualize the coprocessor among multiple Windows-based applications that run inside the system VM. I don't use any mods for this game.īasically the issue is that when you try to run a legacy 16-bit application in Windows XP and above you will receive the GPF (General Protection Fault). The game crashes every 10-30 minutes completely random and I can't find out why. When I reload the game and do the same conversation over again it doesn't crash. ![]() It happens randomly when I talk to NPC's, then suddenly crashes with a "general protection fault" message.
